Etihad Airways was founded in July 2003. They are based in Abu Dhabi which is the capital of the UA
E and their opening flights were internal based to cities like Al Ain. The airline itself has grown considerably and within 30 months of establishing themselves in the market they were servicing over 30 destinations.
The long term plan is to have flights to 70 international destinations by 2010. They also w
on the worlds leading new airline of the year award in 3 consecutive years, 2004/5/6.
The airline in July 2008 ordered over 200 new state of the art aircrafts, which was announced during th
e Farnborough Air Show. The service and hospitality on all flights with Etihad is second to none, and at present a brand new world class terminal is being built at Abu Dhabi Airport.

The journey itself from Abu Dhabi to Dubai takes approximately 45 minutes, this will place you in the main beach areas in Jumeirah and Dubai marina. Some journeys from Dubai International Airport to these areas of major tourism can take in excess of an hour maybe more depending on the traffic so Etihad Airways is fast becoming one of the major carriers of tourists in Dubai.
