In Dubai there are endless car rental companies, which can be found at the airport and outlets throughout the city. You can rent vehicles ranging from economy models i.e. Nissan Micras to top of the range performance cars such as Ferraris and off road 4x4’s.

Exploring Dubai in your own motor vehicle provides great flexibility. To hire a motor vehicle drivers must be aged over 21 to drive a small economy car and over 25 to drive a vehicle with an engine capacity over 2 litres. Please be advised you are not allowed to drive anyone else's car unless you hold a UAE driving license. Please note an international driving license is insufficient and should you be involved in an accident no insurance company will cover the claim.

Don’t forget to drive on the right hand side of the road and always ensure you and your passengers wear a seatbelt. E.g. if a driver does flash you from behind you should pull over and let him pass, another unusual unwritten rule is road rage does not exist, at no stage be tempted to vent your anger in any form of hand signal as this is a criminal offence and you may find yourself in prison.
