Downtown Burj Dubai is one of the newest areas in this thriving city. The 500 acre master development has already opened its doors to many new residents and this is the start of what will become one of the iconic areas in the UAE.

There are various homes, business developments and retail areas still under construction, as well as nine new luxury hotels including the ultra modern Armani Residence.

The centre piece of this area will be the Burj Dubai, which will be the worlds tallest building. As of the 19th July 2008 the current height of this magnificent structure was 650m, with an anticipated height of over 820m. There will be more than 160 habitable floors ensuring Burj Dubai is recognised worldwide.

Along with the worlds tallest building Emaar will open the world's biggest shopping mall the eagerly awaited opening is proposed for the 28th August 2008. We will keep you informed as certain buildings and constructions change dates.

The shopping mall will be known as The Dubai Mall, it will incorporate a world class shopping facility with all the major retailers, a 22 screen cinema, an indoor theme park, the worlds largest indoor gold souk, an educational discovery centre along with a world class aquarium.

It will also incorporate an indoor Olympic size skating ring, with the best restaurants in the world and the most up to date IT and development business area. This shopping mall will be recognised worldwide with an estimated 3.5 million visitors in the first 18 months.
